Writ of Mainprize

Well I finally started to organize my photos from my brother’s wedding. Here are a few pictures of Iain and Laura’s ceremony (Oct 9, 2004). It was a nice wedding in a little church in Burford, Ontario. The weather held out amazingly well (It rained the night before!). My brother is wearing the kilt my dad got married in.
Following a morning ceremony in Burford, the reception was held at McMaster University, where my brother is finishing his Ph.D.

This isn’t really a new entry. Rather, it’s an absorption of a few very old pages from my old website. This first entry deals with a vacation to England in 1998. The photos are rather poor because they are scans from photos using a very poor scanner and major lack of experience in scanning images.

My brother is getting married today! Congratulations Iain and Laura!

One of my hobbies for a long time has been delving into my family tree and I’ve recently made a possible breakthrough regarding my Great Grandmother (Father-Grandfather-Great Grandmother) Sarah Vermilyea. The big question is who is her mother. At the present I think it’s Hannah Preston, but my proof is incredibly sketchy and there are a few conflicting sources. I am 99% certain that Sarah (Vermilyea) Mainprize was born on Apr 8, 1849 based on the 1901 census of Hastings County
