Four Strong Winds

What a windy day at the Hamilton Highland Games (June 26). It felt more like wearing a kite than a kilt. I think some of the younger pipers and drummers were actually swept away!

The massed bands were a little different at these games. The two waves of bands marched from opposite sides of the track and met at the middle. It was like a surreal musical rumble between the Jets and the Sharks (a la West Side Story).

Congratulations have to go to the "home team", the Hamilton Police for winning Grade 4. We performed well too and pulled off a fourth place, despite the wind and intermittent sun playing havok with our tuning! Congratulations to 8 Wing (Trenton), Penetangore and Braemar for placing as well.

Congrats on the 4th, in a solid field of competition. I hope that Lynn is learning to bouce, and I'll be thinking of all of you, with a great deal of jealousy, while your attending my favorite games in Kincardine.

Say "Hi" to our favorite hosts for me, and kick some arse while your at it.

Your hero,
Greg
