Ux-tastic!
Last weekend was busy, busy, busy! Friday evening was the Highlands of Durham Games Tattoo in Port Perry, and Saturday was the Highland Games in Uxbridge. As a change of pace, this games did not have a competition. Instead we put on a 30 minute show. Those willing to brave the drizzly rain were given a treat with over 4 hours of brilliant piping from several pipe bands.
The relaxed atmosphere of the games gave us time to actually watch the other performances, which is rare at a games, because we are generally too busy getting ready for our own performance.
Just remember next year, for the Friday evening performance: BRING BUG SPRAY!

Chatham
Rain threatened on the VERY LONG drive into Chatham, but by the time we all got there, the weather was clearing nicely. Our bass drum had an extra long trip but it survived its little vacation in Kincardine! We played our march medley for the second time at a Championship Supreme Games this year and improved our performance and we were please to hear Black Water got Third Place!

Kincardine Woo Hoo
Hurray. We got 2nd in Kincardine last Saturday! The rain held off all day and we played one of our best performances of the Medley ever. Kincardine is a wonderful town, and one of the best games of the Summer. If you want to enjoy a really good Highland Games, go to Kincardine.
One of the best things about this particular games is that all the bands in every grade play in the same circle, so the audience gets a really good show. And the Kincardine audience is definitely the most enthusiastic crowd going!
An extra special thanks goes out to our gracious hosts who let us use their backyard and even fed us! Thank you very much. We hope to see you again next year!
