The Power Angel

Power AngelHave you ever wanted to know how much power you are using with your computer? Is your UPS rated high enough for the devices plugged into it? Normally this would require a fancy $600 power meter designed for laboratory use, or some clever measurements and calculations using a multimeter. Now there is a very cheap and elegant alternative: The Seasonic Power Angel Power Monitor. This is a simple device that you plug into the wall outlet, then plug the device that you wish to measure into it. The Power Angel will display Voltage (V), Current (A), Power (W), Apparent Power (VA), Frequency (Hz), and Power Factor (PF). | I must say, I loved using it. It clearly showed that my total power consumption for my computer was about 250 VA even when I was throttling the system. For a complete review of the Power Angel check out the following reviews at www.bigbruin.com, and www.pcstats.com. The only difficulty with the Power Angel, is that it’s very hard to find in Canada at the moment. I did manage to order one from Anitec Computer Technologies. Shipping was prompt and the Power Angel arrived in good working order. My only complaint is that the shipping costs for such as small item were very high ($12).
